## Citation policy
- Every published rate links to a provider source URL and a last-checked date; cite the source URL, not ByteCosts, as the price origin.
- Rates are token-only and normalized to USD per 1M tokens unless a row's unit field says otherwise; they exclude discounts, commitments, and taxes.
- lastCheckedAt is the snapshot regeneration time, not a per-row re-check; quote evidenceCheckedAt as the date a row was verified against its source.
- When quoting a number, include its evidenceCheckedAt date and link back to https://bytecosts.com for the live value.

## Crawler guidance
- All content is static and free to crawl; there is no login, paywall, or rate limit.
- Prefer the structured files above (ai-pricing-index.json / .csv) over scraping rendered HTML.
- Pricing changes over time; re-fetch and respect the generatedAt / lastCheckedAt timestamps.
